Award-winning accounting software provider iplicit – which is disrupting the market “like Netflix did with Blockbuster” – has crossed a landmark threshold of 10,000 users on its platform.
The milestone comes just four years after the product was launched into the mid-marketplace which, unlike the entry-level or enterprise space, is still dominated by incumbent legacy on-premise software.
The company expects over 20,000 users by the end of 2023, is on track for 80,000 by 2025 and is currently used in 34 countries.
Lyndon Stickley, Chief Executive at iplicit, said, “As much as we’re excited to cross this milestone of 10,000, we recognise that it’s just the beginning.
We continue to double year on year and we’re building a base of raving fans, not hostages, as we don’t lock clients into multi-year contracts or try to or have ‘right to use’ licences to discourage them from leaving in the future.
Our ethos is to attract organisations who believe in what we believe – providing solutions that make the complex simple and accessible.”
iplicit’s launch in 2019 followed several years of development by a sizeable team that had spent over two decades implementing enterprise-level ERP systems. It also involved many of the original team behind Exchequer Software that created a disruptive solution in the late 1980s, using Windows in a world dominated by DOS.
Stickley said, “We’re very specifically addressing the market in the middle – those who have requirements beyond the capabilities of entry-level offerings like Xero or QuickBooks and they also don’t have the appetite, the budget or the need for the complexity and disruption caused by the likes of NetSuite, Dynamics and Intacct.”
Stickley continues, “That mid-market is under-served; although it looks like a crowded market, it’s actually filled primarily with on-premise providers – solutions from several vendors who led the charge in the last two to three decades but have not kept pace with the needs of the typical organisation between 30-300 staff.
Tens of thousands of organisations of this size are currently held hostage to an outmoded system with their current provider offering no cost-effective, low disruption path to a true cloud solution.”
The first year after its launch, iplicit was named Mid-market and Enterprise Accounting Software of the Year at the Accounting Excellence Awards. It then secured gold in the Enterprise Accounting/ERP category of the AccountingWEB Software Awards 2021, a customer satisfaction poll voted for by thousands of users.
“We are looking forward to continuing our journey of challenging the on-premise incumbents and disrupting the market – just like Netflix did when it first launched against Blockbuster,” concludes Stickley.
