IT Department releases JSON Schema for ITR and Income Tax Forms for FY 2023-24 (AY 2024-25)

The Income Tax Department has released new JSON schema for Income Tax Returns (ITR) and Income Tax Forms for FY 2023-24 (AY 2024-25). The shift marks a proactive step by the tax authorities to improve the digital infrastructure, providing taxpayers with additional options for efficient reporting.

The redesigned utility offers a more user-friendly interface to submit ITR Forms. Taxpayers should expect improved navigation and functions, leading to a more efficient and pleasant filing experience.

ITR-2 and ITR-6 Form Schema has been released by CBDT on 29-Mar-2024.

ITR 6

For Companies other than companies claiming exemption under section 11.

ITR 2

For Individuals and HUFs not having income from profits and gains of business or profession.

ITR-1 and ITR-4 Form Schema has been released by CBDT on 28-Mar-2024.

ITR 1

For individuals being a resident (other than not ordinarily resident) having total income upto Rs.50 lakh, having Income from Salaries, one house property, other sources (Interest etc.), and agricultural income upto Rs.5 thousand.

ITR 4

For Individuals, HUFs and Firms (other than LLP) being a residents having total income upto Rs.50 lakh and having income from business and profession which is computed under sections 44AD, 44ADA or 44AE and agricultural income upto Rs.5 thousand.

Schema for form Form 10B, 10BB, 29B, 29C, 3CEB, 3CA-3CD, and 3CB-3CD has also been updated on updated 29-Mar-2024.
