IT raid on TMC MLA who was former Member of BJP
The Income Tax officers searched Tanmoy Ghosh’s office in Bishnupur on Wednesday, two years after he joined Trinamool after winning on a BJP ticket in 2021.
The team of IT raided the Sibani Rice Mill in Churamonipur, which is owned by Ghosh’s family. His Bishnupur High School More lodge was also raided. IT officials combed through business records to determine whether his assets were equal to his income.
After Suvendu Adhikari threatened them with IT raids, Ghosh and three other MLAs- Krishna Kalyani, Biswajit Das, and Soumen Roy requested assembly speaker Biman Banerjee to change their seats in March 2022.
